Biography
I was born in Long Beach, CA, but shortly thereafter moved to Washington state before my parents settled down in western Nebraska where my mom’s family was from. I attended Graceland College in Lamoni, IA, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. During these past 29 years of nursing, I have gained experience in many different areas; pediatric and adult med/surg as well as same day surgery for both, mother/baby, allergy & asthma, teaching prevention lesson for Polk County, and being an educator at McKeel Academy of Technology’s Medical Academy, where my biggest focus was getting my CNA students their certification prior to graduation. Early in my career I realized that I loved teaching others about what I knew, sharing my personal experiences as a nurse, encouraging students that their dream is important and to go out and get it! I am looking forward to MY new journey here at ÅÝܽ¶ÌÊÓƵ Southern. Twenty-nine years ago, I would never have imagined this opportunity, not only for myself, but for our future in healthcare and our students!
